A new semester and a new class. This semester I am taking MKT 250 Web Business Creation. In this class, I will be building a business website that will be generating revenue. So, it will be a legit business website. This week we learned about the first step in building a business. Do you start with a product or a business model? From what I have read and learned I do think that picking a product first gives you a really good springboard into the rest of your business model decisions. What I kept noticing in my own search to answer that question is the process of just finding an idea is very involved. I’ve been looking into my own talents, my own interests, time, and capability; it has become a real soul-searching exercise. I don’t doubt that is one of the purposes of this class, to encourage students to dig deeper within themselves to see what gems they find.
