I felt like what we learned about this week, Ads & Ad Groups, was very useful. I felt like learning about and practicing creating better Google Ads will be a very effective skill to have. One part that I really liked was the Ad Strength Box that had the wheel inside that let you know how well you were doing. It ranged from “poor” to “excellent”. In the readings, we were encouraged to aim for that wheel to be between “good” and “excellent”. I really appreciated this feature because it gave me a progress report on my efforts instantly. It helped me feel confident in my work. I’m really excited to utilize that feature in the future.
I noticed during my week, that my mind kept coming back to this wheel. I felt like a failure this week. I just felt like I was only hitting “poor” on my strength wheel. It was very discouraging.
Also, this week in Come Follow Me we were asked to read John 15. As I read over this chapter, I noticed this chapter kind of gives a strength wheel or at least it gives you a guide on how to gauge your efforts in life. This whole chapter talks about it, but I wanted to share a few scriptures.
John 15: 7-11 says, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
After reading this, I don’t feel so bad about my week. I know I was trying my best. I know I tried to stay close to the Lord’s word and keep His commandments. I know if I try my best, then my work is “good” to Him. That helps me to be satisfied with my efforts. I do know the more I am obedient to Him, I will want to strive for my efforts to not just be “good”, but “excellent”. There is always room for improvement, to learn, to grow, and to do better. I am grateful that Christ's "strength wheel" for us is based on our intentions and efforts. I am also grateful, that He allows us to continue to improve.
